Alright! I have gotten several comments/complaints that I haven't been posting, and well...there just hasn't been much going on! Plus, Jeff keeps the camera in his car at all times so we haven't been taking pictures. WEAK. I know. I know. The most exciting thing that has happened to us was this past Friday night. We went to see the band, Galactic, in Fort Lauderdale, and the first set was going so beautifully until a MONSOON hit! Well, Galactic had to take a break to cover their instruments from the rain, and we waited and waited for it to stop...until...a transformer exploded three times! Everyone was screaming and running out of the club soaking wet (including myself) and needless to say, there was no second set in order to save our lives. It was intense!! Of course, Jeff did find time amidst the chaos to get us cool t-shirts, though. I mean, you hear about transformers exploding, but you don't see it. And we saw the flames three times!
The other exciting thing that happened this past weekend was that Jeff and Jon Jensen (ya'll remember the best man right?) and I were in Miami yesterday and the boys decided we should do something different: going to a timeshare presentation in order to get a free boat cruise around Biscayne Bay. That's right...I spent my glorious Sunday afternoon discussing pre-constructed timeshares in Orlando just to see a glimpse of Shaq's house on the water. Jon took some pics on the boat and I'll post those when I get a chance. Check out his website (new link) b/c he's super talented, too.
Introducing Giles...
As some of you know, sweet Gwen got her angel wings a couple of months ago, and it just hasn't been the same in the Tyndell family. She brought a lot of joy into our lives, so it was very exciting this week when they found Giles, their new cocker spaniel puppy! Welcome to the family, Giles! Looks like he's fitting right in on the comfy couch. Can't wait for you to meet cousin Karma and Zen.

Merry Christmas everyone! We hope everyone had a great day. Jeff and I have had such a nice Christmas, for no particular reason, but we've been doing a lot of reflection about how blessed/lucky we are. Things have been really good for us lately (especially the new couch...haha). We have such wonderful family and friends and we want you all to know how special you are to us! Have a great holiday season!
Dogs' First Christmas
So...many of you may have noticed that we pretty much treat our dogs, Karma and Zen, like people. Well, Mom is helping us to make that even more of a reality b/c she made them their own stockings! Aren't they the cutest thing you've ever seen?! They are asking for Greenies and carrots from Santa. And we are turning in some of their old, torn up toys for some new ones to tear up. Merry Christmas to all...including the animals! They really do bring us joy everyday!
Intercoastal Cruising
This past Friday night, Bob (pictured with Jeff) and Marlis (yes, with snowflake ears) invited some of us out on their boat to go check out the Christmas lights on the intercoastal canal. We had such a great time...and it was wonderful to get outside and enjoy the beautiful December weather! Thanks! We also decided that it would be a great idea to say hello to one of the GeoSyntec top guys, Dan, along the way...at about 1 am. What a good sport! He even posed with Aaron for a picture (top left)! 
Palm Beach Style...
Everyone at the office went out to lunch yesterday in Palm Beach at this restaurant at the Breakers (Did anyone, other than me, see that movie, Heartbreakers, with Jennifer Love Hewitt? Anyway, it's the hotel in the movie). It was very fun to get out for a few hours and have a gorgeous spread before us. Thanks HDR! A Tree, Not a Bush
Some of you may know that when we first moved down to Florida, it was the beginning of the holidays. It was also the first "real" Christmas since we were back from Africa, so of course we wanted a tree. But we didn't know the tricks of buying a tree in Florida, so we ended up with this lame bush of a Christmas ornament. This year we got a bigger one and did put some other decorations up. Even though it doesn' t look like Christmas here, we're trying to make it feel like it.

Miami Dolphins Game
We went to the Miami Dolphins vs. Buffalo Bills game this past Sunday...good times. Here is us tailgating...me, Jeffrey, Shelley, Annette, Jeff, and Aaron crouching below us. The game was pretty uneventful as the Dolphins were losing horribly the 1st-3rd quarters. We left to go back to tailgating and then they made some crazy comeback in the 4th quarter and won by one point! I think we must have been bad luck...but we met some great Bills fans...especially Mike! What's up Mike...I'll post some more pictures later!
Thanksgiving 2005
Finally! The Tyndells (and Ahrens')got together for Thanksgiving! Although there was no big kids/little kids table distinction, we still had a great time filled with dressing, um...food, and many cute pups!
Ode to Aku
Here is a picture of our pet parrot, Aku, from Mali. Melissa, who lived in our house in Mali after us, sent this picture. Aku was a strange pet, and all the Malians thought we were weird to feed her and let her climb all over the mango tree instead of eating Aku.

Alright, alright...We'll Fix Them!
This morning, great friends and neighbors united to begin the process of fence fixing! Even though "Gamma" is predicted to hit as a tropical storm next week, we figured it was ok to start the posts. Thanks for everyone's help (neighbor, Mike, and Aaron, who also works at GeoSyntec with Jeff, all pitched in)!
Hooray for Dickey Betts!
For those that didn't know, Dickey Betts used to be in the Allman Brothers Band, but now he tours on his own. During the Garlic Festival, he came to Delray Beach, so we went to check it out. He played all the old classics that the Allman Brothers don't play anymore, so Jeff and I were super happy.
A Dangerous Characteristic
This is also from Donald's birthday night inside some club we found. Even in the darkness, even in sepia camera settings (this is the ONLY way I will keep my eyes open in a picture at night Jeff discovered that night), and EVEN though it's not the focus of the picture, you can tell how POINTY my elbows are! Beware!
Donald's Birthday
Jeff's friend from JMU, Donald, came down to visit last weekend, AND we went out to celebrate his birthday on Saturday. We found this cool place in Delray to hang out, got some apps, and discovered the mojito. Annette and Jeffrey came along for the ride as well. Good fun.
The Only Place Left
Not only did we get an armoir while in SC, but we found this fun chair too (also a great deal...have I mentioned how nice shopping is NOT in Florida?) So, we had to put the chair in the back of the Monty and force Karma and Zen to sleep in the chair the whole way back. Thank goodness they don't argue too much about sleeping in the car. It made for some fun car sleeping photos, as usual.
Some of you might be figuring out that I don't have a very exciting life, hence, all the dog pictures! Although, I have to admit, this scheduled, "normal" life is a welcome change from where I was just a year ago.
The Story of the Armoir
When we visited my family in SC after Wilma, we decided to go to the outlets in Gaffney. Behold! We found the only armoir (or piece of furniture) that Jeff and I have been able to agree upon for 70% off! Hooray! So, of course we had to buy it. Little did we know that 1.the store wouldn't help us put it on the roof of the car or 2. there was no trailer available in the whole town.
Thankfully, South Carolinians are some of the nicest people in the world and we recruited some strong gents off the sidewalk to help us put a 700 pound monstrocity on the Monty.
Here is everyone trying to figure out if it's tied down good enough and how to get this tarp around the whole thing in case it rained. I really thought it would slow us down back to Florida and kill the gas mileage, but it didn't! Hooray again! Monty is such a good boy.
We're in the Running...
For biggest pile on the street! Jeff took the demolished shed down piece by piece with a sledgehammer. Maybe it wasn't the best tool, but I think he was pretty pleased with himself and all the banging and destruction involved. So anyway, all those pieces had to be hauled to the street with the debris. The city has been pretty good about picking stuff up, so soon it will all be gone and we can mow again. I just don't want to think about all this stuff going in landfills. So sad...
Before and After Wilma: All Open Sky
Well, not much is going on in Delray Beach lately...a little hurricane recovery (believe me, not much, the way Home Depot has been bombarded by all citizens), many walks with the now-confined dogs without a backyard, and catching up at work. It looks like South Florida is on its way back to normal...well, at least we are getting some traffic lights back.
