Tyndell Meets Nana!

This past weekend, Tyndell and I went up to NC to see my parents, aunt and uncle, and Nana, my Dad and Uncle Paul's mother. It was a great trip seeing everyone and so precious to see Nana meet Tyndell for the first time. She really enjoyed the visits we made and she was doing so much better than I expected. I'm so so glad I went up there even if it was just for a long weekend. Nana is the last of Jeff and I's grandparents, unfortunately. Seeing Nana makes me think of all the stories she told me over the years that somehow I will manage to recap to Tyndell when she gets older and they apply to situations. I have really been thinking a lot about how my Nana and Mamaw (my mother's mom) have shaped my life and the effect they have had on me - it's really powerful when you think about it. Ah....anyway - we had such a great time at PT and AT's house - it's so pretty and relaxing up there. AND - sweet tea, fried green tomatoes - need I say more? mmmm! Needless to say - wonderful family time!

Eating new foods has been quite an adventure to say the least! I haven't found anything that she seems to have an allergy with so we're pretty much just eating whatever we want now. Tyndell still loves peas the best though!

Afterschool Boredom and Yard Update

One evening when Tyndell and I had some extra time, we decided to go play in the yard, show off some of our plants, and take some funny pictures. I'm pretty proud of my bromeliads right now - they almost died once and came alive again with this beautiful flower! Tyndell had a great time pulling up our grass which finally came back with the rains and feeling dirt.

Work Picnic and Seven Month Update!

This past weekend, my company had a picnic and we stopped by for a couple of hours. It was fun to be social with some of the ole work colleagues but it was SO hot (even for me - and I like it 80 degrees+ no matter what!) for sweet Tyndell! We had to get back in the car to encourage some cooling down and naptime for her. I never got the chance to introduce her to my co-workers actually b/c when I was on maternity leave, Tyndell was just too small and tired to take her out of the house a lot. By the time six weeks had gone by and I went back to work, I just never had found the time to bring her to the office, so it was nice for everyone to see her finally.

So...on an update note...Tyndell is Seven Months now! Wow! You can't tell from these pictures (which I shamelessly stole from the ones taken by someone else in the office), but she is sitting up on her own now and has TWO teeth (or "teefers" as Tante calls them yess!). We didn't have a doctor's appointment this month but our prediction is that she is close to 16 lbs now and probably 27 inches....who knows. She's wearing a mix of 3-6 month/6 month+ clothes though so still a little small. She is loving trying new foods (I found a fruit she likes finally! and we are exploring some yogurt and cheese), has a renewed interest in standing up again, and is really noticing the puppies lately. AND - Tyndell gets to meet her GREAT-Grandmother this weekend for the first time - we are making the trek up to NC to see GG, Papa, PT, AT, and Nana! So fun!

Fourth of July Trip

I am finally getting around to posting photos from our Fourth of July trip to the Jersey Shore - there was definitely lots of family! The good thing is that usually the weather is horrible when we go up there, but it was actually really nice this year. Who knew?!
