Warm Winter Pause

Oh Carolinas winter...this past week was a reminder of you - one day snow, next day warm and sunshine.  After a week of yucky yucky 30s and snow and ice on Thursday night/Friday morning, Sunday looked like this!  So strange....it was welcome though and I miss it as this morning was 25 degrees.  Winter cannot make up its mind just like I remember from childhood in SC.  Just wanted to get the kids out for a Vitamin D pause when the sunshine hit and asked Tyndell to do all kinds of funny things like - "run to me!" or "check out the grass!" just so I could get some pictures of her, so here are the results.

2013 Weekends Commence Bits and Pieces

One of the things I want to do more of this year is capture the random/normal moments of our life - the stuff you think isn't important in the moment but really are the opposite.  I just feel like life and especially these kiddos are so precious (I think it's the Sandy Hook episode and new similar stories on the news that keep getting to me - another abduction news story today - ugh!) and carpe diem feels immenent and necessary.  I was so excited when I looked at our weekends in 2013 and there wasn't a whole lot showing so far.  I'm looking forward to hang time together and moments like these.  So periodically I hope to share some of our bits and pieces (inspiration from my favorite blogger, Miss James).

1. Starting back a tradition of co-journaling with a fantastic girlfriend - 10 years in the making!
2. Being silly during tummy time
3. Introducing a new generation to the Muppet Show
4. So Serious Babe
5 - 6.  Veggie Tortellini Pesto Soup....one of our favs
7. Karma love
8. Hugging a Classic on a Warm Winter Day

Siblings

Is it possible this love can last?  I hope so....so far, Tyndell and Silas seem to get along swimmingly.

I SMILE!!!!!!

Christmas 2012

Have I mentioned how sad I am that Tyndell deleted our Christmas pictures?  Thank goodness Mom A and Dad A sent these pics to save the day!  These supplemented with a few iphone pics aren't bad and it's the memories that count, right?  Right....and the perfect picture of Silas' First Christmas...grrrr....Ok, ok...I'll drop it!  Regardless - we had a great Christmas!  Jeff's parents came into town for about a week and we got to do lots of fun things - visit Christmastown aka McAdenville, make cookies, watch A Christmas Story many many times, wear gnome hats and princess dresses, Big Pancake Night, stop Sienna the Elf from eating marshmallows, and playing games and puzzles.  Christmas morning was very chill - woke up, opened presents around 7am-ish I think and then made biscuits and sausage/bacon for breakfast - I pretty much stayed in my PJs til noon which was the BEST.  There was definitely some random nap taking throughout the day.  Mid afternoon the rest of the family came over for dinner - Mom and Dad T, Brandon, and Aunt Alice and Uncle Jerry.  We had a delicious feast thanks to my parent's cooking mostly, and there were definitely lots of archery a la Merida moments throughout the evening.  Couldn't have asked for a better day - I had been looking forward to Christmas all year long in 2012....just to get through our move, have Silas, get settled, and then enjoy the holiday as a little Family of Four...precious.  Thanks to Mom A and Dad A for traveling down for the holiday!  Good times.

Christmas Kids

Errrr - I'm having so many issues with a Christmas post....first, Tyndell deleted ALL our photos (sniff...Silas' First Christmas GONE!), which is sad, but luckily Jeff's parents were in town and sent me several good ones, but I haven't been able to upload them all.  This will have to do for now - two lovely iphone pictures of our Christmas kids....hopefully - more to come and hope everyone is having a wonderful 2013 so far.
