Our Fourth of July was pretty low key this year - as many of you know it's been a rainy summer so we haven't in general, gotten outside too much and the rain gods made no exception on this holiday. We relaxed inside during a cloudy, humid and threatening afternoon and I experimented in gluten-free pie making. We met up at my parents' house for dinner and some sparklers action and then went up to Uptown's Met area to view the fireworks from the rooftop (Jeff won tickets off Facebook!). We waited and waited and had an awesome view of the city, however, we were rained out with no fireworks at all. Huge disappoint, but it's always nice to do anything different as we get to know Charlotte. Hope everyone had a nice Fourth celebrating and recognizing how lucky and blessed we really are to be Americans.
