The other weekend felt like we had finally come up for some air after many months of...well, losing and thinking we might lose those we love. Medical drama is mentally exhausting we have found. It had been a few weeks since our DE trip and Brandon's condition was doing much better since his transplant, so we all felt a little bit lighter. So instead of intense distraction, we opted for some family fun distraction and got out to see some of the Charlotte sights. On Saturday - it was Silas' SIX MONTH birthday! Can you believe it? Going so fast and growing so fast - so awesome and fun to experience. He is so so fun. It was raining, but regardless - we went to the 7th Street Market for salad and pizza and really really good chai and cake pops before hitting up the New South Museum, which is an attraction uptown that walks you through the history of Charlotte. I have to say - we were really impressed with this little museum and it was fun for all ages - Tyndell enjoyed the cotton making process, dressing up in "Belk's," pretending to get a shave in a barber shop, etc. I learned what that old Blazing Saddles reference to Randolph Scott, meant (Dad would be proud). On Sunday the weather was too good not to get outside so we headed to Freedom Park to burn some Tyndell energy at the playground and a walk around the pond. We are hoping to get out more and have more weekends like this coming up - there is a ton of fun stuff in Charlotte and we haven't even had a chance to really explore and experience any of it as we've been so busy and caught up in our own drama the past few months. Here's to a lighter remainder of 2013!
