Happy One Month Birthday, Silas!

So we've made it through the first month - whew!  Feels like a huge milestone and Silas has changed so much already and growing up lots and lots already which is awesome.  So fun to see!  Week 3 at home felt like another setback from the previous week that I posted about b/c Silas got Pinkeye (hence the greasy eye pictures you may notice)!  Ugh...so he was pretty tired again and didn't rest or eat well since he didn't feel very good.  Luckily - we got into the doctor's office quickly and got the eye ointment going so that by the weekend, he was getting better and we just took it easy again while Jeff was out of town.  Week 4 (last week) felt like a pivotal week, mainly because he just became alert much more and really got nursing down well.  It's like things finally clicked with him...I can't explain it.  It's like once he got close to his original due date, he "woke up."  One day he couldn't latch very long and keep up sucking and then the next day, he had the strength and got good meals and we didn't need to supplement with bottles anymore and he was sleeping well between feeding and pooping/peeing regularly too.  So...for the past week now exactly, he has had no bottles and for some reason, though I know it doesn't matter how he eats as long as he is healthy and growing...it just feels so awesome to be able to feed him directly in one quick step.  It feels like one of the greatest accomplishments of my life honestly.  SO much easier than the Triple Feed schedule we have been on or constantly pumping like with Tyndell!  And not to mention, it just makes life so much easier too and leaves more time to spend with Tyndell between feedings/naps.  It feels like we have some flexibility and options back in life a bit too.  Regardless - Life is GOOD!!  Feeling blessed and so happy to celebrate our One Month old little man!
