The second weekend in July, the Atlanta Ahrens came to visit! This was great b/c we've really rarely see them over the last few years and we always have such a good time together...plus, Tyndell absolutely adores their girls. Technically, they are second cousins but we'll just call them all cool cousins b/c these girls together are so amazing. It was again, another very hot weekend and we didn't want to do too much that we didn't have time to talk and catch up so after lots of morning lazy time, we made it out to the Flying Biscuit on Saturday morning and then got in some Charlotte Roadside America (there have been several references to this phone app - this is one of Jeff's favorite activities and we usually sucker family into following suite haha) action in one van! We got to see lots of random statues all around the city and took tons of silly pictures as you can see. Great way to spend time together and get a little tour of the city in since Marc and Joyce and family had never really spent that much time in Charlotte before. The girls even had their own nail time out on the back deck while we made tacos for dinner. It's been so nice being up here and being able to see more family and friends now that we are closer. Sunday morning came way too early and we just lounged around watching family videos and listened to all the musical talent in the family between Jeff, Rebecca, and Emma, before they had to drive back. Favorite moments from the weekend: 1. Observing Marc and Jeff walk the same (way ahead of all the women while playing with iphones), 2. Tyndell wanting to do anything that Emma and Rebecca did, 3. Hearing Rebecca and Jeff play some bluegrass on violin and mandolin together, and 4. Staying up late with Joyce and talking about "Mom" things and "marriage" things and feeling family love!! LOVE these people! Thanks for coming to visit us!!!
